About This Ceremony
Mahashivratri — the Great Night of Shiva — is observed on the 14th night of Phalguna month. The night-long ceremony includes four Prahar (3-hour watches) of special Abhishek, Rudrabhishek, Om Namah Shivaya Jap, Shiv Stuti, and an all-night Jagran (vigil). This is considered the most auspicious night for Shiva worship and seeking liberation (moksha).
